AERIALYMPICS INVITATIONAL

When: March 1-2, 2025

             Saturday, March 1, 2025 – 8:30am-2:30pm

              *Studio opens at 7:30am. Stage Testing begins at 8:30am for first division,

                which will be announced once Registration is Closed.

             Sunday,  March 2, 2025 – 10:00am-3:00pm 

              *Studio opens at 9:15am. Stage Testing begins at 10:00am for first division,

                which will be announced once Registration is Closed.

Important Dates and Deadlines:

  •        Registration Opens – NOW

  •        Only solos or duos, No parallels or ensembles

  •        Registration Deadline – 14 February

  •        Music, Prop, and Waiver Deadline – 22 February

  •        Tshirt & Sweatshirt Pre-Orders – 14 February (We will have a limited amount available at the studio

Tickets:

            Tickets are required for all spectators attending the event

            $20 for single day, $30 for weekend

Exceptions:

  • Coaches who have an Aerialympics-issued lanyard that matches their ID will be given free entry. Coach lanyards are not transferable. Coaches must be part of the team program or request a lanyard prior to the event to receive a lanyard at the event. Additional lanyards will not be issued on the event weekend. We are allowing 2 coaches per team with a minimum of 5 performers. Please email Aerialexpressionsshreveport@gmail.com to request Coaches Lanyard.

  • Performers who have an Aerialympics-issued lanyard will be permitted free entry for the day stated on their lanyard. This coincides with the day of performance. When performing both days, they will be issued two badges, one for use each day.

     Free entry is not guaranteed to anyone and may be revoked at any time.

     If in doubt, buy a ticket and support the host studio!

 

Videos:

         $20 per performer, per apparatus available for purchase.

  • We do not live stream any performances. Please do not stream performances.

  • Do not take pictures of any performer who is not a member of your family or part of your team.


 

  • HOW TO REGISTER TO COMPETE....

 

Performers must Register to Compete through the Aerialympics site & Sign Waivers using the following link:  https://www.aerialympics.com/local-invitationals

One waiver from Aerial Expressions must be completed, as well.

  • ALL Performers  are required to sign an Aerialympics waiver before performing.

  • All  performers are also required to sign a waiver for the venue (Aerial Expressions) prior to competing. This is a second waiver, separate from the one you sign for the Aerialympics. All waivers for performers who are not yet 18 must be signed by the performers legal parent or guardian. 

  • If you already have a signed waiver on file with Aerial Expressions, you are not required to sign another.

Competition Schedule:

                   Performances:

  •            Silks - Saturday, March 1  (exact times for divisions will be announced once registration is Closed)

  •            Lyra, Hammock, Specialty - Sunday, March 2

  •            NOTE: All performers will stage test on the same day that they compete and stage testing is mandatory.

Awards Ceremonies:

                  Aerialympics Awards will be mailed out after routines are scored and placements announced.

We will have special Mardi Gras Invitational Awards presented immediately following each competition division

    •    Silks: Saturday, March 1 immediately following competition

    •    Lyra, Hammock, and Specialty: Sunday, March 2 immediately following competition

 

 

 

 

Apparatus:

You are welcome and encouraged to bring your own apparatus to meet any specific needs you might have. All apparatus will undergo an assessment by our head rigger prior to being used in the event. 

We only rig single-point apparatus at our regional competitions. If you have an apparatus that requires 2 points (e.g., static trapeze), please bring a spreader bar and plan for a single-point rig response in your apparatus.

Note that if the equipment is deemed unsafe when inspected onsite, we have the right to refuse to rig it. In no case will the event organizers or host studio be liable for issues you encounter when using your own apparatus, even after a passing inspection.

Apparatus available at the venue will be those listed below. 

Rig Point:

  • Rig point is a maximum of 14’ depending on hardware, but it is adjustable and can go lower to accommodate your apparatus or height requirements.

Silks:

  • Material : Tricot 40 Denier – Medium Stretch

  • Length: 13 yards Color: Silver *color rigged unless otherwise requested

  • **Length: 13 yards Low stretch Color: Red, Silver

  • Other colors available upon request: Purple, Teal, Grey, Unicorn, Pink, Green Bean, Gold, Maroon, Lavender, Dark Pink, Lime Green, Black, White

Hammock:

  • Material: Tricot 40 Denier

  • Length: 10 yards Color: Pink *color rigged unless otherwise requested

  • Other colors available upon request: Red, Royal Purple, Light Purple, Royal Blue, Dark Purple, Dark Pink, Lavender, Lime Green, Teal, Black, White

Lyra:

  • Material: Powder Coated Taped Stainless Steel Hollow Tube

  • Sizes and Configurations (sizes are interior diameter):

    • Tabless ¾” bar - 34.5”, 35”, 38”

    • Tabless 1” bar - 28”, 35.5”

    • Tabless 1 ¼” bar - 32”, 34”

 

Trapeze:

Workshops and Events

  • Contortion w/ Amelia - $25 (Friday 6:30)

  • Dance choreography w/ Gwen - $25 (Friday 5:15)

 

  • OPEN GYM …Available Friday (times to be determined)

  • Rig point rental– 1 hour/$25

  • (this is a SINGLE point rental, others will be sharing the studio with you)

  • Private rental – 1 hour/$200 (this rents out entire studio A or B and gives you access to the audio system for that studio, other studio will be available to others. Both studios can accommodate up to 10 working rig points)

  •  

  • *Mardi Gras parade will roll through in the afternoon, competition CANNOT run late. If the competition gets behind, we will have a hard stop of 2:30pm and will resume the following day starting at 10:00am, as roads will be closed for the parade. Guests are invited to use our parking lot and facilities to experience the Mardi Gras parade. Safe parking, CLEAN restroom facilities, food, etc. can be hard to find along the route. If you do not vacate the premises by 3:00pm, you will be enjoying the parade whether that was your plan or not! 

 

Divisions Divisions are created by combining the following elements: Location Type Apparatus Level Age LIVE Solo Silks Novice 7 and under In the Wild Duet Hammock Intermediate 1 8‐10 Parallel Lyra Intermediate 2 11‐13 Small Ensemble Specialty Advanced 14‐17 Large Ensemble All Star 18‐29 Production Ensemble 30‐39 40‐59 60+ LIVE and In the Wild performers do not compete against each other in the same division. Divisions will be split if they contain more than 6 performers. When full divisions are split into multiple groups, each group will receive placings and medals. The overall winner of the full division will be declared but the winner will not receive an additional medal. Divisions will be combined if a set of performers of the same apparatus and skill level contains fewer than 3 performers. When combined, we will attempt to place performers of similar ages into the same division, but it is possible that performers of widely varying ages may compete against each other. Competitors of different skill levels will not be placed in the same division. Competitors on different apparatus will not be combined, except in Specialty. In certain circumstances, adult and youth divisions may be combined. Specifications for division elements are listed below. See Glossary f
